My Blog Experience

English always was a subject that interests me, because it’s something that makes me feel near of the culture of other countries, but I have to say that I’ve never been so good in it. For that reason this opportunity to practice this language in a way more didactic was a very good activity to me, obviously in the first posts write my ideas in a language different was a little bit difficult and getting use to “think in English” (and honestly,  even after ten post it’s difficult to me organize me and do it).  I feel that after this activity my English skills improve, and I say skills because I feel that doing all this post I could learn more words, improve my grammar and make easier to talk about any topic… I know that my English is even so poor, but this activity make feel a little bit more confident of my knowledge.  If I could suggest something, I think that this activity must include more posts with more free topics because through this activity we could think in other things not related with the subjects of the university and all these things…

Finally, I only could say that maybe in the future write a blog not for an obligation could be a good option to make something different and escape from all the stress of the university.         

a place that I love

     In my life I haven't traveled a lot, but that doesn't mean that I don't know some beautiful places. There is one that was and is so much important to me between all of them... a little place near of Santiago, called El Rosario's farm. There live my maternal grandmother, and some relatives, and her house are my place to escape of all the stress of the life in Santiago and of any problem. Almost every summer of my life I stay in there, and soon all the problems or stress disappear.

     Really it’s a beautiful place that only since 2011 have the only road paved, there are maybe 50 houses at most… and all the other space are farms and a river that makes better all the environment. If I have to choose what are the things that I more like of this place I must say firstly that I love could go outside of the house in the night and see ever a clear sky full of stars, and obviously wake up with the sing of birds or chickens some times. Secondly, because is the house of my grandmother and I have a lot of good remembers of my infancy there. And finally, because there you feel that the time goes so slowly… and ever was time to relax!

A very bad experience

Well if I think in my experiences in the faculty this semester, there are one that win the first place in my memory, and unfortunately was a bad experience. One or two weeks ago we have the third big test of biology and the first practice test of histology. The test was a Thursday in the morning, and how every morning I left my house one hour before the start of the class but that day with all the stress for the test I forgot that near of my house all the Thursdays there are an agricultural show in one of the streets. I take the bus like every day but then the worst happened...a big traffic jam that makes me wait more than 50 minutes, and although makes me arrive so late to the test... and I must to did it in less time. Really, that was a very bad day.

The only that makes me happy when I remember this day is that in both test I has a good grade even though I arrive late... things that happened sometimes I think. 

An expert in your field... Dr. Luis Ciocca

    Today, I will write about the Dr. Luis Ciocca, a Titular Professor of the Universidad de Chile, Dentist, Director of the Department of Legal Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine and academic of the Faculty of Dentistry.

    He is an important expert in Chile, because he cooperate with the identification of Marta Ugarte, the first "Detenida Desaparecida" that appear in September of 1976. After of that he was the founder and the first president of the Society of Legal Dentistry of Chile (1983) and who changed the way to see the Legal Medicine in our country. Nowadays, he keep his place like an eminent specialist of the Legal Dentistry in Chile and internationally.

    I found out about him in one of the first classes in the university, when the teacher talked about him because his work like dentist in the seventies is very similar to what Germán Valenzuela Basterrica did to solve in 1909 the problem with the "Caso Becker", and for that matter, a model to pursue to all the students of dentistry of our university and Chile in general.

Since I was five or six years old I have been interested in the nature and how all the things like rain, for example, happened day after day. I remember that the first time I camping was in 2000, and how the smell of the morning, the sound of the river and the sing of the birds makes me feel something that I couldn’t express with words, and I’m sure that I don’t be the only one that feel the same.

One day some years ago, searching in the library something good to read in the summer I found a book called “Into the Wild”, it was the story of Christopher McCandless, an American guy that in 1990, decided move away of the society and live in the middle of the hard nature where finally he found his dead. Read that makes confirm my idea how the force of nature can change the way of see our life’s for better or worse (the story of McCandless was only one of many examples of this).

In Santiago the nature almost doesn’t exist, all is gray and polluted, if the people could help to make more green areas to do sports, to walk, to have a better and different life. I know that with a new park the people could not have an experience like McCandless but if they could take a moment to live in this places, maybe their life’s could turns better like mine.

A photograph

I must begin by saying that I don't so much about photography but when I have 15 or 16 and the days in the school were becoming more and more bored, I liked lost my time taking photos or recording videos with my old mobile.

Honestly since I started to study for the PSU and these things my time for hobbies or to do anything was almost zero. The photography that I choose you can see a little square in the middle of the Barrio Concha y Toro at the center of Santiago. I took this picture in 2011, I don't remember the day but it was after classes in the preuniversitario that was no far of this place. 

I like a lot to walk and see places of the city that in the normal life you ignore and someday I arrive to this place and I love it, that's the reason of the photography... furthermore the scene shows a dog laying upon the side of a pool, some pigeons too and  a side of Santiago that it's difficult to see usually, the old architecture that was the result of tried to build a little piece of Europe in our city at the beginning of the last century... all these things makes me remember the peace and happiness of these days with a smile. 

Once you, were in my rearviewmirror

Pearl Jam is a rock band that was formed in Seattle in 1990. Since its inception, the band's line-up has included Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, Mike McCready, and Eddie Vedder. The current drummer is Matt Cameron, of Soundgarden, who has been with the band since 1998. They have ten albums that give life until our days to the legend of 90’s.

I don’t really know when I started to listening Pearl Jam, maybe five or six years ago… that’s not important I guess, but I could say that in this time their songs have become my favorites. I’m not the typical fan of one kind of music that never listen another things or the kind of people that ever use t-shirts of their favorite bands, but with this band I can’t avoid do some of this.  In 2010, I could go to Bariloche in my study tour, and one day I found their debut album “Ten”… and well I bought it without thinking a lot. I have seen this band two times, in 2011 and 2013, but if I have to choose one, I never forget the show of the last year in the Lollapalloza because until the last moment I couldn’t go for money problems… and then my mother give me my birth present one month before, a ticket for the show… I don’t have words still now for that, she worked a lot only for that, I really cried for happiness that day

That’s one of the reasons because this old band, their lyrics and a special show will be ever in my mind :))
